Doug Conkel
Doug Conkel is a principal and director of defined contributions client relations with Milliman’s Employee Benefits Administration Practice. He joined the firm in 1994.
In this role, he assists clients with plan design, implementation, communication, compliance, and operational processing effectiveness. In addition, he is responsible for strategic planning with his clients, and he participates in retirement committee meetings as a partner/consultant and the client’s advocate to Milliman.
Experience
Doug has worked in the pension industry for his entire career. He started his professional career in 1989. He began working for a Dallas-based third-party administration firm; Doug assisted with payroll, conducting transactions, reconciling plans, preparing Form 5500s, discrimination testing and document work. During this time, he pursued and obtained his CPC and QPA designations from ASPPA. This hands-on learning opportunity provided a foundation for him and his career at Milliman and enhanced his ability to effectively assist clients with their retirement plan needs.
Doug has written several articles and presented at several industry conferences covering topics ranging from fee transparency and retirement readiness to mergers and acquisitions.
