Daniel DiNinno
Daniel DiNinno is a senior consulting actuary with the Milwaukee office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2023.
Experience
Daniel’s areas of expertise include provider performance benchmarking, episode analytics, and alternative payment models. He has vast expertise in these areas related to specialty care. Daniel has experience working across commercial, traditional Medicare, and Medicare Advantage populations.
His current responsibilities include developing Milliman’s specialist performance benchmarking tool and assisting organizations engaging in total cost of care or specialty-specific value-based payment arrangements.
Prior to joining Milliman, Daniel served as an actuarial director for a large, blended payer and provider organization. While in that role, Daniel led the organization’s strategy and design of specialist performance benchmarking. He integrated this work into many initiatives, including provider network design, direct engagement with the provider community, opportunity identification, value-based payment design and enablement, and member steerage. Daniel also led the design of the organization’s specialty care value-based payment arrangements, including bundle payments, hospital-based programs, and condition-based models. Additionally, he led the evaluation and performance tracking of several specialty-based risk contracts with external vendors. Daniel also built various analytic tools that identified drivers of trend and performance by condition, provider, procedure, and service category. Prior to this role, Daniel led the pricing of the organization’s Small Group ACA and Commercial books of business.
