Rachel is a principal and consulting actuary with the Atlanta office of Milliman. She joined the firm in 2004.
Experience
Rachel has more than 20 years of healthcare actuarial experience. She has consulted with insurance carriers, Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, HMOs, CO-OPs, government entities, state high-risk pools, accountable care organizations, provider organizations, and employers. She has worked with start-up organizations as well as with established organizations entering new product lines.
Types of actuarial support Rachel has provided for her clients include:
- Pricing and rate development for commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid products
- Preparation of commercial regulatory rate filings for both ACA and non-ACA products – including individual, small group, and large group
- Medicare Advantage Plan feasibility analysis and bid development
- Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan analysis and bid development
- Review and/or estimation of actuarial liabilities/assets for financial reporting
- Annual Statement year-end reviews, including issuance of the Actuarial Opinion and Memorandum as the Appointed Actuary
