Glenn A. Giese

Glenn works in Milliman’s Healthcare Practice. He assists clients with pricing of Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plan products, including strategy, rate development, bid preparation, benefit analysis, estimation of the impact of legislation reform, estimation of reserves and liabilities, and actuarial projections. He has also assisted MAOs with contracting and risk sharing arrangements, and other issues related to Medicare Advantage and Part D.

Glenn has worked with MAOs since 1999, completing hundreds of bids for MAOs, including many provider-owned plans and different types of plans such as DSNPs, CSNPs, ISNPs, PDPs, PPOs, and POS plans.

Glenn has worked with many start-up MAOs, providing feasibility analyses, and assisting with CMS applications, product design, and implementation.

He also assists with related Medicare Advantage work, including conducting feasibility analyses of product launches and service area expansions, performing profit and loss analyses, and conducting comparisons of experience to fee-for-service levels and the impacts of health care reform.

Glenn also has served as appointed actuary for many health plans, including estimation of claims unpaid, premium deficiency reserves, Part D reconciliation amounts, etc.
