Mark Mulvaney
Experience
Mark provides casualty actuarial consulting services to insurance companies, rating bureaus, insurance regulators, state funds, self-insurance groups and pools, and to individual public and private self-insured employers. Lines of insurance include workers’ compensation, commercial and private passenger auto, commercial general liability, homeowners and farm owners, commercial multi-peril, medical malpractice, fire, inland marine, other property lines, and reinsurance. Activities include ratemaking, reserving, company formation, valuation, financial analysis and company modeling, software development, expert testimony, research, and special project work.
Prior to joining Milliman, Mark worked for the National Council on Compensation Insurance. His work included industrial classification ratemaking, data validation and quality control, federal classification ratemaking, and law evaluations. As Western Regional Actuary, he was responsible for the review and recommendation of overall rate changes for the western half of the country.
Mark has presented before the Casualty Actuarial Society, the Society of Financial Examiners, the National Conference of Insurance Legislators, the American Society of Safety Engineers, the Colorado Association of Captive Entities, the Public Risk and Insurance Managers Association, the Midwestern Actuarial Forum, the National Association of Independent Insurers, and others. Publications include “Dynamic Financial Analysis of a Workers’ Compensation Insurer.”
