Yiping is a consulting actuary with the Chicago office of Milliman. She joined the firm in 2002.
Experience
Yiping specializes in the evaluation of life insurance companies and blocks of business for use in mergers and acquisitions, securitizations, cash-flow testing, and other strategic initiatives. She has substantial experience in U.S. statutory and GAAP accounting, particularly related to actuarial appraisals, embedded values, and stochastic modeling of guaranteed benefits. Yiping has extensive knowledge in a wide range of life insurance products, with particular focus on variable annuity guarantees and universal life secondary guarantees. She is a powerful MG-ALFA® user who utilizes the most sophisticated tools available and evolving in MG-ALFA. Yiping has been very active in principles-based accounting (PBA), with contributions including research into how best to measure the adequacy of margins in the PBA reserves under a cost-of-capital approach.
