Market insight from year-end 2021 SFCRs: Analysis of non-life insurers based in the Netherlands

This briefing note looks at the year-end 2021 Solvency and Financial Condition Reports (SFCRs) of a sample of non-life insurers based in the Netherlands. In this briefing note, we analyse the SFCRs of 10 largest Dutch non-life insurers, based on the volume of gross earned premium in 2021. We rely on key information in the Quantitative Reporting Templates (QRTs) in the SFCRs. After an introduction, we discuss:
- Analyses of premiums, combined ratio, balance sheet, and investments
- The solvency capital requirement
- An analysis of the evolution of SCR ratio
