CY 2022 Milliman benchmark and Maryland All-Payer Claims Database cost and utilization exhibits
Commercial and individual population, under age 65
The Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC) has developed methods to benchmark the cost and utilization of medical services in Maryland against other metropolitan statistical areas of the United States with similar population characteristics. The HSCRC recently commissioned Milliman, Abt Associates, and SAG Corp. to help in this benchmarking process. Part of our work included preparing calendar-year 2022 cost and utilization summaries of members under age 65 with commercial and individual health insurance. The paper’s main sections include:
- Summary and summary exhibits
- Data sources and data processing
- Data reliance and limitations
This report was commissioned by the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission.
