The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association requested we summarize the top Pharmacy Services Administrative Organizations (PSAOs) in each state, based on the number of pharmacies they serve. PSAOs act as intermediaries between pharmacies and pharmacy benefit payers. They typically support independent and small chain pharmacies with a variety of services, including contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, reimbursement assistance, technology and data management. In the report, we present the top-three PSAOs based on pharmacy count by state as of Jan. 1, 2024.
