Grant is a principal and consulting actuary with the Orange County office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2004.
Experience
Grant serves a variety of corporate and multiemployer clients. He assists clients with many aspects of defined benefit plans, including actuarial valuations, financial reporting, cost projections, asset-liability modeling, plan design studies, and pension administration. Additionally, Grant has experience performing postretirement medical plan valuations.
Grant’s recent projects include:
- Consulting on retirement plan design issues, including the projected funding and financial reporting impact of plan changes
- Performing benefit comparison studies to examine the impact of alternative plan designs
- Completing an asset-liability modeling project that resulted in higher expected returns for less risk
- Working with multiemployer plans to respond to Pension Protection Act requirements, including the analysis and development of rehabilitation and funding improvement plans
- Working with multiemployer plans to develop funding and benefit strategies and policies
- Meeting with bargaining parties regarding plan change options
- Defining procedures and completing withdrawal liability calculations for multiemployer plans
