Jason J. Petroske
Jason is a principal and consulting actuary with the Milwaukee office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2013.
Experience
Jason's primary area of focus is assisting commercial health plans with pricing, state insurance department rate filings, experience analysis, and financial modeling. He has worked extensively with Affordable Care Act (ACA) regulations and, in particular, the Federal Risk Adjustment program and risk transfer model.
He has led many ACA research initiatives and modeling projects in his time at Milliman, including designing and building the firm’s commercial medical coding and EDGE submission tools and the firm-wide ACA financial accrual projection model, among others.
Additionally, he has supported various issuers with forecasting and building pro forma financial statements. He has also assisted health plans with annual statements of actuarial opinion regarding statutory liabilities.
Before joining Milliman, Jason worked for nearly nine years at a major health insurer in the Milwaukee area. As Director of Enterprise Risk Management, he coordinated various analyses and projections for the company’s main business units, such as claims processing, sales, and customer service and retention. His other responsibilities included general experience analysis and building and maintaining the firm’s individual and small group financial forecasting models.
