Dane Hansen
Dane Hansen is a senior consulting actuary with Milliman's New York-Atlanta Health Practice. He joined the firm in 2016.
Experience
Dane has provided consulting services to a spectrum of clients, such as health plans, provider organizations, patient advocacy groups, pharmaceutical companies, and risk-bearing providers. He has extensive experience with the following:
- Developing and implementing alternative payment risk-sharing strategies between payers and providers, including episode-based payment models
- Assisting with federal and state filings of premium rates related to the Affordable Care Act
- Modeling clinical identification algorithms to analyze costs and utilization for patients with specific outcomes or conditions
- Evaluating risk contracts between payers and providers
- Analyzing healthcare claims and related data to determine key drivers of cost trends
- Calculating financial projections and reserves
Prior to joining Milliman, Dane worked at a commercial insurance company. Dane assisted with pricing and rate filing for marketplace exchanges in several states and supported the development and review of dental pricing. He also has experience supporting the medical cost economics team of an integrated delivery system.
Dane has published several white papers and articles on various topics in healthcare.
