
Eric J. Wunder
Eric Wunder is a principal and consulting actuary with the Milwaukee office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2009. Eric specializes in property and casualty actuarial consulting and has experience assisting commercial and captive insurance companies with actuarial services. He specifically has extensive experience with medical professional liability (medical malpractice) coverages for hospitals, physicians, and other professionals and entities requiring professional liability insurance.

Eric assists clients with services such as:

- Pricing and product development: ratemaking, class and territory plans, competitor rate studies, and rate filing support
- Captive / self-insurance solutions: feasibility studies, funding estimates, and ongoing support related to pricing, reserving, and Statements of Actuarial Opinion
- Financial modeling and risk analysis: stochastic (simulation-based) modeling, pro-forma projections, assisting with AM Best rating reviews, and legislative impact analysis
- Merger and acquisition support: due diligence related to insurance company unpaid claim liabilities and / or pricing adequacy
Eric has published articles in Inside Medical Liability and Captive Insurance Company Reports. He also publishes quarterly articles summarizing the medical professional liability industry’s financial results in Medical Liability Monitor. He has spoken at several conferences, including those sponsored by ExecuSummit, the Medical Professional Liability Association, the Western Region Captive Insurance Conference, the Casualty Actuarial Society, and Milliman. He is also an experienced webinar presenter and speaks regularly to his clients’ boards of directors (or equivalent body).
