Proposed reforms to Part B Rx for the Medicare Fee-for-Service program
03 December 2018
Medicare Part B covers drugs that are typically not self-administered. Medicare Part B drugs can be furnished in a physician’s office as part of a professional service or given by infusion or injection in a hospital outpatient department. Self-administered drugs are covered through Medicare Part D. This paper outlines proposals to shift certain drugs from Part B to Part D and to change Medicare’s system for administering Part B drugs.
